Chair is just what I wanted. Well made and easy to use. Very comfortable. Only criticism, which is not of the chair, is that the polystyrene in the packaging makes a mess and is a pain to clear up so an alternative would be useful.

A design icon and top quality chair

I sit a lot for my work as a film maker and after over 20 years my old chair gave up. I have looked for some time to find the perfect replacement chair. It needed to be functional, comfortable but also stylish and fit in my studio space. The Eames styling ticked the style box. The leather upholstery and padding are very comfortable, another important box ticked. Sturdy construction means it will most likely outlive me! The final box ticked! What styles of office
chair does Onske offer?

Our office chair collection spans low-back and high-back padded leather executive chairs, ribbed leather designs, armless meeting room swivel chairs, a wood-veneered executive chair, and our large lobby-style management chair. Frames are available in polished chrome aluminium or powder-coated black, and every swivel chair comes with your choice of castors or fixed glides - making them equally at home in a private study or a professional boardroom.

What is the difference between a low-back and a high-back office chair?

A low-back chair - such as our 217-style or Model 7 design - offers a refined, streamlined silhouette, well suited to meeting rooms, home offices, or wherever a lighter visual presence is preferred. A high-back chair, like our Alto or 219-style executive range, provides full upper-back and shoulder support, making it the stronger choice for extended working hours or a more commanding executive aesthetic. Both styles are available in a range of leather colours and frame finishes.

Are your office chairs height-adjustable?

Most swivel chairs ,excluding some conference or meeting room chairs, in this collection features a gas lift mechanism for smooth seat height adjustment, allowing the chair to be set to your preferred working position and adapted to both standard desks and lower meeting tables. Fixed glides are available as an alternative to castors on most models, ideal if you prefer the chair to stay in place on hard floors (just request glides instead on the order notes.)

Are these original designer pieces?

Our chairs are premium, high-quality pieces inspired by some of the most celebrated designs of the 20th century. They are not produced by the original designers or their licensed manufacturers - any reference to a designer name is for comparison and identification only. What we can say is that every chair is exceptionally well-made in its own right, built from genuine leathers, quality steel, and precision-cast aluminium bases.

How much assembly is required?

Very little. Our office chairs arrive substantially pre-assembled; just to slot the gas lift pole onto the base, which takes only a few minutes and requires no tools. Full instructions are included with every order. Should you ever need to return a chair, please note that the gas lift must be detached and the chair returned in its original packaging before collection can be arranged.

What leather options are available, and which is right for me?

Every chair in our office range is upholstered in genuine leather - we have never stocked faux or bonded leather. The two main options are top-grain aniline leather, which offers excellent durability and stain resistance for everyday use, and waxed aniline (pull-up) leather, a premium hide that develops a beautiful patina over time.
