Waxed Aniline Leather
Pull Up leather is a premium full aniline leather that is coloured with aniline dyes, then sealed using natural oils and waxes.
Pull-Up leather is therefore also called 'waxed leather' or oiled leather. The main characteristic of these leathers is they develop a patina and aged look over time and use. They are porous and tend to be smooth and very soft with a slight sheen and without a grain or texture. These are very much premium hides and cost more to manufacture in than other types of leather. They can absorb stains easier than top-grain but will age very gracefully as they wear in.
Top-Grain Aniline Leather
Top-grain leather has been sanded and buffed to enhance workability and eliminate natural blemishes. The refinement of the leather creates a subtle surface uniformity and greater stain resistance.
Aniline refers to the dyes that are used in making the final product once the hide is tanned. During the aniline dyeing process, the aniline dye, mixed with oils, soaks into the leather, giving it added softness and a rich look. Good choice for everyday use when durability, stain resistance as well as good quality is required.
Corrected Leather Range
A topcoat of pigment is sprayed on the tanned hide, sometimes with additional coatings for protection or effect. The surface can be embossed with a grain or pattern. Corrected leather is durable and consistent looking, however it will not develop a patina over time. It is the most used of leathers in general high street furniture.
